Wooden Gridfin Trivet | STEP File
3D model of the gridfin trivets I made here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU3C3z3tsN0
Notes:
There are no added radii to aid machinability. I recommend an 1/8” endmill for detailing so your corners aren’t too chunky.
Thickness can be adjusted as desired. However wooden variations are susceptible to warpage if made too thin.
I recommend a simple oil finish as they are easy to reapply (ex. salad bowl finish or mineral oil). Cured finishes may not tolerate heat well.
This is not an accurate gridfin model, far from it. I removed a row of diamond cutouts in order to make the trivet more square, and better fit the proportions of a pot or dinnerware.
For non-commercial use only. You may print or machine this file for your personal use.
