Shapeoko 2 CNC Kit: Assembly Overview

IMG_1167.jpg

In case you hadn't noticed, I was kinda majorly geeking out over this Arduino-controlled machine last week.

Over the holidays, the Shapeoko 2 CNC kit I had ordered from Inventables arrived. I spent most of my free time in the beginning of January putting together my first serious workshop toy/tool. I documented the entire process as well as I could (I was far too busy trying to make sense of all the metric hardware) and summarized the entire process in a video as I am wont to do.If you have a hankering to tinker, and no one else can help, maybe you can invest in... a DIY CNC milling machine kit. *cue A-Team theme*IMG_1167Seriously though, the kit is a beautifully designed piece of work. As the second-gen affordable CNC solution by Edward Ford, the level of refinement is spectacular for a beginner hobbyist. And it's way cheaper than consumer-level 3D printers. Take a gander at my not-quite-fault-free construction process if you're interested. I edited the entire thing to make me look more competent than I really am.:3
