Because Bigger is Cooler… or just a little more fun…

With cameras packing ever higher resolutions, making these panoramas causes my computer endless suffering. So when I took a string of pictures at the Craters of the Moon National Monument to piece together later, I didn't realize just how big it would get. The result below, including the bits that were cropped out, come out to around 120 Megapixels. I had to make you open up this page on its own, because i don't have a low-res thumbnail for the pic, so it slows down people browsing through my front page. Browsers don't like rescaling 6 MB jpg's.Next Goal: 1 Gigapixel.
